Paul White provides a Movement Analysis service that understands the complexity of the many body systems that are being used to optimise human movement. This approach differs from the standard offering usually seen in the strength/conditioning and physiotherapy worlds. Paul utilises the theory of dynamic systems and complex motor learning, to show how the body's systems can be optimised to complete movement tasks.
Paul's thorough understanding of these principles lay a solid foundation for the identification of an athlete's sub-optimal movement patterns. Once these problems have been identified, Paul is able to create the most appropriate plan to help solve these problems.

I highly recommend Paul as a running coach. I am running faster, more efficiently and straining my body less. I am blown away with how much I have learnt, even after a few months. Paul helped me over video sessions, which was great as I am not based in Auckland.
Paul is very good at explaining how the body works while running. He breaks down your stride and helps you at each different point without overloading you with information. I saw improvements in my technique every week from focussing on the right things and doing the right drills and exercises.
I think everyone who wants to improve their running – no matter what level or where you are – would benefit hugely from Paul’s expertise. I can’t recommend him more!

I scheduled a running session with Paul White following a post-race injury in my foot which was a result of poor form. Throughout the past 9 months, Paul has helped address my running form inefficiencies which were causing me pain and then implement improvements to progress me as a runner.Â
I found Paul's approach to running retraining to be extremely effective as he takes his time to work with you during the session using his running knowledge to evaluate you in real-time and follow-up with video to convey the nuances he notices in an effective manner. I would find that I would progress throughout the session and his follow-up emails complete with video analysis ensured that I had the required information to reinforce his suggested improvements. I found Paul's approach valuable because he did not overload me with too many cues and fixes all at once but instead provided me with enough a manageable amount of improvements to incorporate between my sessions.
With the help of Paul, I have run further, faster and felt stronger than I ever have while running.

For as long as I can remember I have run with posterior shin splint pain. I’ve seen every health professional under the sun, signed up for yoga, stretched and used the form roller daily.. pretty much anything I could think of to fix it.Â
I first heard about and from Paul White during a seminar where he discussed multiple aspects of running; one of them pain. A few things were mentioned as to why someone might have pain whilst running... shoes (changed those, didn’t help), overtraining (stopped training and slowly started again…they didn’t help) and biomechanics.Â
I never thought my running style was wrong, yet I was convinced after that seminar that I might need to get it checked out.Â
I went into the Run Session with no expectation, nothing else had worked so why would this. Straight away Paul identified aspects of my style that could be changed. He videoed them and explained in simple words what was going on.Â
From there we completed various drills to improve my technique. After the session, I received an email with instructions and videos all to help me continue to improve.

I have seen Paul, both in an individual Run Session and a group workshop setting.  Paul's real value is having the chance to run outside in a more natural environment. This actually made a big difference to my Run Assessment
In Paul's running assessment, he gives you real-time 'exercises' that you can either start with walking or can throw straight into your running if you get the hang of it. These exercises are all dynamic and are directly related to your running form, and are easy to do. Paul demonstrates the action, you do the action, easy as that.
I was very skeptical at the start, but have been amazed by the significant difference in my running, even in such a short period of time.

'I WANT TO TEACH YOU ABOUT THE SKILL OF RUNNING'
Paul has been working as a physiotherapist for 20 years. Paul has been completing specialized Running Assessments for the last 10 years.Â
Paul's lightbulb moment in the understanding of the running movement occurred at a conference in London. What had always previously been described almost as a two-dimensional account was clearly explained in three-dimensions. There was now a clear understanding of why some previous patients did not always recover from their injuries using standard methods so often prescribed in the physio world. This was a turning point in Paul's career as a running coach, and as a runner himself.
Paul has a desire to help people recover and become resilient with their running. He wants to help you achieve your goals.
Paul lives in Avondale, Auckland with his wife and two children. You will often see him running in the area, typically with a running buggy.
