What are orthotics?

I stole this blurb from the internet, But I think it is accurate. A doctor-designed orthotic will control the alignment and function of your foot. These orthotics will treat or prevent abnormal motion, or rolling, of the foot. By redistributing the pressure on the bottom of your feet, you'll reduce discomfort, pain and calluses.

I find it hard to answer this question. Hence When Peter Attia interviewed Irene Davis about this topic I was super interested in her stance. I really enjoyed this podcast, and I think it does a good job of answering the above question.

However, Like always take this information with ‘a pinch of salt” as I do believe there are situations that orthotics really can contribute in a positive way.

Hence please have a listen.

Extra for Experts.  Irene is obviously an expert in this area. I really like the way she frames the information she presents. They deep dive into lots of parts of the running discussion. However there are some things I do disagree with. Does anyone else have issues with anything she discusses? We would love to hear your opinion on the things the topics she talks about. Which are the things you agree with, which are the things that you would question her on?

Otherwise, enjoy another great podcast from Peter Attia (love that guy)
